Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is another banger from Apple TV and honestly, it might be my favorite season of television from 2026.
MPG (new acronym, baby) stars Paula Sanders (Tatiana Maslany), a single mother and journalist who sometimes decompresses with a webcam model named Trevor (Brandon Flynn). During a routine chat, Trevor is violently attacked and kidnapped before Paula starts getting ransom calls. Despite video evidence, the police dismiss it as a scam, but when Trevor is found dead, Paula is seen as a prime suspect. This is a terrible time for the police to distrust Paula as she gets entangled with the real killer when he learns about her video evidence.
While Paula contends with the misguided police and, you know, a murderer, she finds herself locked in a custody battle over her daughter, Hazel. Her ex-husband (Jake Johnson) and his new wife (Jessy Hodges) seem to almost revel in the real-time crumbling of Paula’s life, and they’re determined to take Hazel away and move across the country.
Ultimately, we follow Paula as she taps into her investigative skills and goes on a mission to prove her innocence, win her daughter back and evade a murderer, turning this show into an absolutely wild ride.
On my arbitrary scale, this is an easy 5/5, and I can’t wait for season 2.
