Drunken Karaoke: Khaled Khaled

When it comes to collaborations, DJ Khaled is known for bringing together today’s leading musical talents in the industry. For fifteen years, the hip hop producer has created several hits that are still listened to this day and has paved the way for other producers to release collaborative albums as well. This year, DJ Khaled returns to the forefront with the release of his twelfth studio album, Khaled Khaled.

Named after him, DJ Khaled’s latest project has been teased since last summer but pushed back due to the Pandemic. In July 2020, he released a pair of singles “Popstar” & “GREECE” featuring rap megastar, Drake. These two tracks took over Tik Tok and social media platforms last summer propelling it up the top of the Billboard charts. For the remaining twelve tracks on the album, DJ Khaled put together some unique collaborations for different tracks with artists H.E.R., Migos, Bryson Tiller, Megan The Stallion, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Cardi B, and many more. One of the standout tracks on the album is “Sorry Not Sorry” featuring James Fauntleroy, Nas & Jay Z as the two hip-hop heavyweights toast to their successes in their careers over a sample of the latter’s song “Song Cry”.

As seen with his last few albums, DJ Khaled has mastered the ability to put together an album where all of the tracks on the project can be individually released as a single to bring sales to the album. Every track packs so much star power that it’ll be interesting to see how his album rollout will proceed. Just in time for summer, DJ Khaled releases another solid effort to have his name be echoed all throughout the clubs and over the radio. Check out Khaled Khaled on all music streaming services.

DJ Khaled Writings

Sorry Not Sorry

Big Paper

I Can Have It All

Sorry Not Sorry

Sorry not sorry

Words apologetic

My actions haven’t been

Being selfish in my actions

No I haven’t been

I been reckless at times in my past

But it didn’t shape my present

The gift of lessons was my greatest present

That bright light shines bright now so iridescent

So in this pen and paper are my confessions

Six years I’ve perfected this pen

Broke the quill many times and I still wouldn’t end

The ink spilled still and then I spill it again

Created blots I call stories so you can create your own picture

Just know I’m talking bout money

They look confused when I say go figure

Go figure the quiet kept

So many dreams I had, but y’all slept

So intuitive but some said inept

People attacked my character

When you have read my background yet

Many people surprised by my journey

Well I tell you don’t stop believing

Y’all said I would get left behind

But look who the ones not leaving

Y’all said I was gonna lapped by others

But who got themselves heaving

Yeah you tired as Pokémon

Who’s that I see Weezing?

Poetry Curry

I got three points to make

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take

And I 100% can rock with you, all my friends are great

This flow continues to be inspired by Drake

Number two, keep your foot on the gas

Don’t you left off that brake

Manne swear they quin to you

Standing up to me all fake

Number three is when they fall off

Leave they ass in a pile with a rake

And watch your blessings add up and you swear its fate

Sorry not sorry

Big Paper

Big paper

Try me now

Find out later

Think shit is sweet

I’m a give something to savor

My words in your ear

I’m in the with flavor

Cutting down the competition

Slim the sides like a taper

When it’s finished

I’ll recite that shit orally

And when I get finished

I’ll ask for my royalties

Same people around

Won’t need to ask about loyalty

Less you bringing your all

Then only expect more from me

I Can Have It All

I can have it all

Put in the work and then you can play

Been working long nights to prepare me for this day

I see things black and white after some days that were gray

And after the April showers, give me my flowers now if I May

I’m on my summertime shootout and when it’s starts I’m on my fabulous

The hunger never stops til the point that I’m ravenous

And to the ones that used to point and laugh at us

Better have bought tickets to my show

Other than that you can’t sit for us

Can’t hold a candle to my name

And no you can’t get lit for us

Can’t toast and celebrate me now

No you can’t get lit for us

Can’t roast and celebrate me now

No you can’t get me breakfast

I’ve been up and at it early

Until I see them gates all pearly

And I’m doing this for the ones

That consistently did it for me

Continually keep pushing forward

So I never have to worry

I’m a have it all

No one’s gonna get it for me
