I’m thrilled to realize
I can no longer access
the single line of Shakespeare
finally
erased after thirty years in my brain,
words obscured by time and age,
the line I muttered moments before
farting violently
into a metal chair
as I rehearsed “The Taming of the Shrew”
with my sixth-grade class in the auditorium.
I was the widow,
of course.
But wait,
here it is:He that is giddy thinks the world turns round.
