Blithe frolics under moon caressed skies
Becomes the final nefarious jaunt
Of enamoured infatuation,
Endured in sacrilege and subsumed
By bitter cocktails of jarring distillate
And burning rifles
Cocked under manipulative pretences
And mania craven,
But willingly slayed,
Two tormented souls
Were laid to rest under
Promises kept in fear
And locked away in bloodshed irreparable,
For death separated no bonds,
Nor no mortal remains,
Demarcated by angelic crocuses
Where besotted bones were disturbed
Like vultures’ talons on cobalt carcasses
Scorched by foreign star
And tempered by arid lands
Decaying in eternal contemplation,
A price paid in full for passion disastrous,
A death wish incensed by fiery discharge,
A weapon’s decimation,
Declared missing, a lovers triste gone array,
But preserved by salted winds
Dancing across the horizon.
