Uber Through the Sands of Arrakis

I check my messages

& see I have another

fare.

This Uber side-hustle

is rough,

but it pays the child-support.

This side-hustle puts

food on the table

& keeps the heat on

in winter.

It turns out that between

spice-heads

& the alcohol usage in

The House Atreides,

I’ve been pretty busy.

Three in the morning

& that punk Paul

is texting me again,

“Hey dude,

I need a lift home.

I had three too many,

hahaha.”

What a douchebag!

His frat-boy friends

help him up on top

& away we go.

Through the sands of Arrakis,

I hump those sorry sacks

home again, home again,

home again.

Through the sands of Arrakis,

I travel blind

& forgotten.
