As the music industry continues to evolve with the times, more and more artists are taking their art into their own hands. Over the last few years, musicians are getting out of traditional record labels and branching out independently taking ownership of their path to success. In 2021, one of the artists to do so was KYLE.
KYLE has been releasing music for the last decade spawning the hit singles, ‘iSPY’, ‘Playinwithme’ and more. In the summer of 2021, he announced he was going independent and a string of singles soon followed leading to his latest project, It’s Not So Bad. Being led by the Craig David-sampled jam ‘Sunday’, I was intrigued to see the rapper keep up with his radio friendly melodic tracks for the project. The 30 minute album is a quick listen filled with vibes that you listen to all winter long. One of the highlights come from after sampling him for one song, KYLE receives a feature from the ‘7 Days’ singer on the rapper’s latest single, ‘Unreplaceable’.
I’ve been a fan of SuperDuperKyle since 2013 with the release of his debut album, Beautiful Loser. Since the beginning, he has remained true to his core fans displaying versatility of melodic tunes to heavy hitting hits. He teases that this is not the only album we’ll receive from him this year. From this project, I’m excited for what’s to come.
