Ice Spice took the music industry by storm last summer with her viral singles, “Munch” and “Bikini Bottom”. Three weeks into 2023, the New York rapper surprise releases her debut EP entitled Like…?. The six track project gives listeners a taste of what to come and from the first listen, she is going to leave fans wanting more.
Ice Spice’s signature drill sound can be found throughout the entire EP. She is very in tune with popular culture as we’ve seen with the SpongeBob sample and the “I Need A Girl” sample for the Lil TJay-assisted “GangstaBoo”. Paired with catchy lyrics that will soon be seen as captions across social media, Ice Spice has been a refreshing start to music releases in the new year.
Ice Spice is proving naysayers wrong who classified her as a one-hit wonder. Declared rap’s new princess by New York Times, the rapper has a bright 2023 ahead with fans anxious for a full length debut studio album. We’ll wait and see for what’s to come.
