100-word Film Review: Dirty Dancing

Picture it, a dance film with all the drama you can pack into an upscale resort in the Catskills. It premiered just in time for season 3 of the Golden Girls. Can you tell I’m an 80s baby? Frances “Baby” Houseman, a young and idealistic 18-year-old, falls in love with the rebellious dance instructor, Johnny Castle. A pregnant dancer and womanizing waiter aside—what viewers remember most is the final dance number and climactic lift. But the real triumph of the film is how Johnny falls for Baby, not Lisa, “the pretty one” (Can you tell I’m the younger sister?).
