I Decided

That anonymity
Was not what I wanted
When I died.
So, I thought,
Maybe if I taped
A selfie onto my headstone
People would never forget me.
But then, how do you tape a selfie
Onto cold marble?

So, I guess because I’m not crafty,
I have to be social, go out
And be among people,
But I’m pretty sure that would make me
Even more anonymous.

I’m not upset about that.
It’s a lot to ask of people
To be present in the moment, or moments,
Or whatever tick of time is smaller than a moment.

So, I will just make it easier
On everyone, and especially myself,
And stay home and Google–
In between Netflix binging,
Snapchat filtering,
And TikTok surfing–
How to tape a selfie
Onto a cold marble headstone.
