2 Poems By A.R. Salandy

Apocalypse

Ideologies clash to the sound
Of seasoned ethnocentrism,
A constant murmur

Shackled to devious endeavours;
Powers enshrined on heathen demagogues
Who hark only to the sound
Of mortal sin.

But reluctant minds
Become inoculated by rabid lobbyists;
The mercenaries of assured apocalypse.

For heinous actions
Will lead to mass decimation
Beyond singular hatred
Where dissention drives increased burial;

Soulless flesh condemned
To tepid soil eternal.
But many must perish,

Suffering in boiling crimson
Before cosmic judgement may be invoked,
Before dispersed bones powder
And dissolve into celestial essence blinding.

Seduction

Reddened lips speak of carnal pursuit
As guards are broken
And attraction comes forceful
Until the merlot spills

And your once idle hands lay bare claim.
