I remember those dreams as kid
Waking up in Pallet Town
Book bag next to my bed
My mom yelling “today’s the day”
I run downstairs
Out the door
To the laboratory
Professor oak tells me
Choose your Pokémon
Sometimes I choose Charmander
And I get burned in the face
Sometimes I choose Squirtle
And I get drenched with water
Sometimes I choose Bulbasaur
And I get doused by sleep powder
I always wake up thinking
Which Pokémon will choose me?
I miss being a kid
I miss the Saturday morning cartoons
I miss collecting the Pokémon cards
I miss Pokémon Stadium
20 years later I hope to have that dream again soon
I’m interested to see what Pokémon I’ll choose now
