My Dad will understand less of this than he did my Wanda poem

I’m so out of touch with the zeitgeist
I don’t know if Rick and Morty is cool
Or if it was
And we’re in the midst of the backlash phase

I called my 6 year old Squanchy today
It’s fine
since he’s halfway to the age
where I might burst in
Then turn around
apologising for my rudeness

I always laugh at Rick burping out words
But as soon as a child tries it
I am demanding pardons and excusals
Farts are different
They’re always funny
From anybody

Jerry is the successor to Homer J.
A man dumb enough to laugh at
A man real enough to uncomfortably push breath from my mouth knowing I’ve done something just like his latest calamity
And how I was completely fine about it
Until Jerry did it.
